The Drama of it All

Thinking about it, are boys easier to take care of than little girls? Even though I had not noticed it before, I made it a point to try and figure this out, so for the past weekend, I kept a watchful eye on my children and noticed how they acted. Of course, it’s not like I haven’t noticed how Melinda acts up on almost every little thing that she wants to do. When I promised to take her shopping with me so she can buy gifts for her friends, she was all over the place. She could not decide which color of zhu zhu pets to get because she wanted it to match her friend’s eyes. She also did not want to pick out the T-rex gift that her brother specified because it was “frightening and it might eat her.” That’s not all, in one store, it took her a full hour to decide which color ballerina shoes she wanted. This was worse than the time she picked out her Ballerina kid’s sign for her room. Maybe my 7 year old is just a picky shopper, but I could not help noticing how the boys simply breezed through this same process a day before. They had their shopping excursion as well and they were in and out of there in no time.

Well, there might be some truth to this after all. What sparked this was a post that I read about a mother detailing the drama she experienced with her daughter. Oh well, I guess at some point, I should just chuck it to parenting.
