Get a Puppy or Not Get a Puppy?
Children often have a special affection for animals. When we were walking down the mall last week, I suddenly noticed that my daughter was gone from my side and after what seemed like an eternity (in real time 5 seconds) I found her at the pet shop window. Her beautiful blue eyes set bright and a huge smile plastered on her face; she was looking at a puppy. Now, I know that she’s been bugging my husband and I, to get a dog. But, I don’t know, a puppy is just like having a child and I know how tough that can get. I had to coax her to come with me and say goodbye to the puppy. When we got home, the first thing she did was rush to the boy’s room, joined them on the wild animals printed rug on the floor and told them about the cute little Labrador puppy she saw.
It didn’t take long until the boys picked up and pretty soon, all three of them were urging us to have a puppy. My main concern is really just the training and the hassle of having to take care of a dog along with my children. Or maybe I’m just reading too much into it. I looked up information online and it seems that its not as difficult to train a puppy. As of the moment, we’re looking into the possibility. Hopefully, we’ll make the right decision soon. It’s tough to say, no, to my cute little bright eyed kids.
