Little Girls and Sports Interest
A cousin’s five year old daughter has grown to like soccer so much, she has been begging her mom to change her room design. They couldn’t make renovations right away and so the little girls has settled for a soccer twin sheet set bedding for now.
Her mom is slightly bothered by this though. Girls aren’t supposed to be that crazy with sports and she is worried that the little girl would grow up not recognizing that. The little girl’s father, though, isn’t at all phased by this. He loves that his daughter is showing interest. With the family’s two elder kids, both boys, they spend most of their time playing sports while my cousin lives in the kitchen, preparing their snacks.
Sometimes though, the two parents have conflicts on how they should raise their youngest little girl. Their parenting style almost always clash when it comes to this and so I advised my cousin to just see where this is really going.
Kids grow up in phases. Perhaps my cousin’s daughter is in one and there have been plenty of little tomboys who usually outgrow their obsession when they become teenagers. I’m sure my cousin’s daughter will turn out fine however she grows up.
