Dealing With Step Kids
My step kids are staying with us for a couple of days for the holidays. On top of the presents they all have received from their dad and I, every year, I would actually look into some of my own children’s stuff to give to them. I have included one of my daughter’s cute flowers for Hanna shaped pillow to give to my step daughter, as I have heard her compliment on this when she arrived.
Although, I honestly feel that sometimes giving the kids hand-me -downs makes me feel it’s a tacky move, the look on the kids’ faces more than tell me I made the right choice. See, between my kids and my step kids, my children really have life easier. This little gestures we do not only makes my step kids feel good, it also makes me feel good.
I’ve been a step parent for almost fourteen years and tend to the husband’s children from his first marriage during the holidays and school breaks. While this role is really challenging, all my children are growing up and getting along very well in my household. The half-siblings, I see, all adore each other and my husband and I are pleased how they are all turning out.
