Flying with Children: A Hassle with the New Flight Rules
Although I understand the need for a tightened airport and flight security measures after what happened to Flight 235, it’s still tough to be a parent and traveling with your children. We were planning a great family New Year’s vacation this coming February, but right now, it seems that it won’t be too easy. My kids are all looking forward to this vacation and I must admit that my husband and I are looking forward to it too. However, with the new rules, there would be plenty of restrictions and knowing children, it’s going to be tough trying to figure out how to keep them occupied and entertained to what will be an almost 3 hour flight. My little girl even already planned out what she’ll bring which includes for some reason, her personalized princess room sign.
I am still hoping that they will be more lenient towards us, considering we’ll have kids along, but from what I heard from my fellow mothers who have traveled after these new policies got enforced, it’s going to be quite rigid. I just hope that airline personnel will be a bit considerate. Of course, I know that these new rules are there to protect us, but there’s no denying the fact that sometimes mother’s need a bit of understanding as well.
