Baking Soda, The Best Cleaning Agent For Beddings

I’ve got a huge cleaning day scheduled. I’m targeting all the beddings and mattresses for cleaning this week. Especially that of my son’s Alpha Bravo Charlie Twin Quilt with Sham, which unfortunately, had been soiled with juice and milk as well as some other stuff, owing to the fact that my boy still has bed wetting problems on occasion.

Anyway, I don’t have any fancy cleaning products with me. Do you know what I rely on most of the time? Baking Soda! I learned this trick from my aunt, who used to treat her soiled mattress (lots of cats in her house!) with a baking soda + vinegar solution. I swear, it does take the odor out and it’s very effective at giving new life on to the fabric.

Although, mine isn’t actually a solution. I don’t use vinegar with it, coz I can’t seem to find those white pure ones. I just spray on baking soda on the surface and then let it sit for a few hours before I dust it off with some brush and a vacuum cleaner.

I also put a teaspoon or two of baking soda to a load of laundry, so that it mixes with the detergent. It cleans better, I tell you and it gives the fabric this new fresh airy feeling.

Have you tried using baking soda as a cleaning agent?
