Caring for Your Parents

Sometimes, it’s already difficult to balance time with children. Especially when one asks your for help on a class project, the other one wants you to play with her and her new princess vanity table & chair set, and the other one simply wants you to read him a book; and what’s worse is that they’re asking to do it all at the same time. Taking care of children is a challenging task for most parents, however, what if you also have your aging parents to take care of?

This fact is certainly inescapable for most people on their 50s and 60s. They are left with children that are sometimes still in their teens or way younger and at the same time frail parents in their 80s or early 90s. It can be quite a feat to juggle between the two, let alone find time for yourself. The term  “club-sandwich generation” has been termed to this generation of parents and adults. Although sometimes it’s difficult to take care of parents especially since you want to be able to take care of your children and focus on them instead. It’s still a fact that they are your parents and as tough as it may be, it’s your turn to go ahead and take care of them, in exchange for the care and support they gave you when you were still growing up.
