Helping a Kid Get New Shoes

Recently, I have been on the hunt for new shoes to give away to my sister’s son as well as maybe get some for my children. Although they get new shoes every now and then, it often doesn’t last and most of them end up in the trash after six months or so. I guess all that running around and jostling in the yard does create plenty of wear and tear in no time. My sister has the same complaint with her son. She just got him a new pair 3 months ago and when she checked she found this huge hole at the sole of the shoes. Since she always helps me out when getting stuff for my kids like the personalized kick it up kid’s room sign I needed for Kyle’s room, I decided to help her pick out shoes for both our children.

Luckily, I found these great shoes from Tom’s. I’m getting one for my 3 year old and she’s getting one for her sons, James and Kerr, 4 and 7, respectively. The great thing about this shoe manufacturer is that when you buy a shoe from them, they actually match it and donate a pair of new shoes to a kid that’s in a third world country. Not that many shoe makers are willing to commit to something that big. Hence, I informed my sister about it and she checked the site out. We both like it and are planning to get a shoe for each of our children. Apparently, they also have shoes for adults so maybe we can also find one for ourselves while we’re there.
