High Heels for Little Girls Pose Risk
Little girls grow up really fast these days, that pretty soon, you may find your daughter getting rid of her giddy up twin quilt with pillow sham, for a more fun, pop and chic style. With a growing daughter myself, I truly would like to savor these moments and let the little girl be the little girl just a little while longer.
That’s why it baffles me to see some kids’ parents allow their daughters to grow up really fast. One of the latest fashion trends we see in magazines are little girls wearing high-heeled shoes, much like very sophisticated women walking in the streets of New York. And I just don’t really get that.
I know that as a child, we are told that we can’t wear heels because it is bad for our physical well-being. Have some things changed now? Apparently not. For according to doctors, when little kids wear heels as early as three years old, it’s possibly risky and may induce tightening of the heel cord and changes in the growth plate.
I can’t imagine how comfortable this must be for the young girls. Fortunately, my own daughter is not a fashionista and would rather stick to comfortable flip flops and sneakers anytime.
