Hunting for a Hero
For months on end, my kids have been bugging my husband and I about getting a pet. Although we came close to getting one over the holidays, luckily, the kids attention was diverted because of the festivities of the season. Besides that, we altogether decided against it at that time, when we were able to babysit for our neighbor’s dog. The kids loved him and we did too, that is, until he decided that Micheal’s construction pillow was going to be his chew toy. Not only that, he also left us with plenty of half eaten shoes and toys. The home was quite a mess for almost a week because of that, hence, I never even thought about getting a dog again. However, the kids are now back in their track of mind and bugging my husband and I about getting them a puppy.
And for now, we’re seriously thinking about it. We thought that it might be good to have a dog that can help us watch over the children a bit or play with them. We’ve made an appointment to visit the dog shelter this weekend and hopefully we can find a small golden retriever. My kid’s already want to name him Hero, so I guess we’re getting a male dog. I just hope we find one that’s not so rambunctious and can be a great pet to have.
