Assessing a Child for Autism

As a mother, it’s only natural to worry about the state of your children. Sometimes only a mother knows or can tell that there’s something wrong with the child at an early state. However, as a mother, once you do notice something slightly different, it is best if you don’t dismiss it and find out if there is something wrong or not, as soon as possible. My friend is experiencing this dilemma right now. She noticed that one time when they were fixing his kid’s fireman twin sheet set, her kid was not really looking at her properly.

Ever since then, she started paying attention to the little things that he does. Like how he has trouble making eye contact with anybody that he speaks with. Although he’s still young and could be attributed to simply lack of interest or low attention span, my friend noticed that something was off. When she asked about it from a doctor friend, she recommended that my friend have her child assessed just to make sure. She also realized that her kid doesn’t even talk that much as other children. They’ll be visiting the doctor this weekend, so hopefully she’ll find IF there is something wrong or she’s simply overthinking things. Hopefully, everything will turn out fine.
