Making the Trip to Doctor’s a Success

For my nephew’s first doctor check up as a bigger child, he had ask his mom to bring his colorful sea pillow with him. His mom had made sure that everything else is prepared for him, such as keeping him comfortable on the way to the clinic, or having the treats he would like, afterwards. She had even prepared him emotionally coaching and teaching him what the child can possibly expect during the check-up. This is all fine and dandy only that she forgot about preparing herself.

Having a sick child can be nerve wracking to any parent, no matter what the sickness is. My sister-in-law has been so caught up and focused with her son that upon their visit she was so unprepared and forgot to bring his records or was very spaced out when asked about the pertinent medical details in his medical history. She also forgot to ask the doctor pertinent questions that could help with taking care of the child while at home, such as the medicine schedule, that I had to call the doctor’s clinic afterwards and ask.

It is very important for the parent to also be very prepared before going to the doctors. You can check this site for other tips on how to prepare and make the trip a successful one.
