Do You Hire Sitters When Going On Vacation Without the Kids?
For a much needed rest and rejuvenation, we are taking time off in a few weeks, just the husband and I and we are sending the kids off to their grandparents. One of my younger kids has so lovingly reminded me to pack her Lady Bug Yard Twin Quilt with Pillow Sham, a favorite of hers. She does this whenever she goes on a sleepover to Grandma’s. One time we forgot about this and she was quite a handful to take care of according to my Mother. I don’t know if there is some connection to the bedding and her behavior, but I am not taking chances. My husband and I are supposed to be gone for two weeks and I hope to not give our chosen “sitters” a difficult time with the kids.
We’re lucky in a way because our parents live just across town and can be relied upon for things like this. Other parents would have to hire a babysitter and actually pay for the services. Some sitters may even cost a lot, it’s not even feasible to do anymore.
Having our parents around not only saves us a lot, but I feel more comfortable leaving children for awhile with family than with complete strangers.
How about you? How do you manage to go on vacation leaving the kids behind? Do you hire sitters, too?
