Spanking Still a Hot Issue
Recently, my husband gifted my daughter a time out rocker-girl for receiving an honors award in class. She likes it so much that she practically spends the entire day sitting down and rocking her chair back and forth. She usually plays with her baby doll there and pretends to be a little mommy. However, one time I caught her spanking the little doll. When I inquired, she said that the baby was being bad and won’t eat the food that she was giving. I have never spanked my children before and I don’t intend to. My husband and I believe in the same thing. We usually just talk and explain to our children if ever they do something wrong.
Apparently, my daughter said that her friend’s mom spanks her friend to discipline them that’s why she thinks it would help if she spanked little Nicka (her doll) as well. After some quiet time, the issue of spanking has come up again. Personally, I think that it is still wrong and luckily research says that it is. Most children who are spanked at such a young age become quite aggressive and destructive as they grow older. Hence, it’s best to simply avoid doing this and instead look for an alternative method in disciplining a child.
