Favorite Parents
I got home after grocery shopping with my little girl last weekend to find one of the rooms in complete shambles. The boys in my house apparently made use of this Safari Jungle Full/Queen Quilt with 2 Shams to make themselves a fortress and pretend they were all in the jungle. By boys, I meant my young son, my teenage kid and the father of my kids! Yup, my husband is a child at heart. I actually am raising four kids instead of three.
My husband can really be all goofy with the children. It makes me sometimes feel that he is their favorite parent, more than I am…which I totally do not resent. Not every family has a father like my kids do. There are days though, when my husband is all business, order and discipline with the kids. And when they see their dad is serious, they totally fold like little, obedient soldiers.
In every family, I think there is always a favorite parent, one that kids favor over the other. I personally think that’s fine though, because I think favoritism with kids does not really equate who they love more. It’s just that some parents are better at doing other stuff than the other parent.
