Why Ash Clouds are Dangerous
There is no doubt that the state of air travel today has almost come to a full stop in certain countries. My sister is still currently stuck in London because her flight has been canceled because of the ash cloud. It’s too bad because my son has been looking forward to hanging out with her aunt and sharing his cowboys pillow with her. She’s a big cowboy’s fan (meaning anything to do with the wild west she loves.) Hence, my son was looking forward to seeing her but I guess he has to wait.
The reason why ash clouds are so dangerous is that they can essentially cause grave damage to the engine. It can cause partial or sometimes full engine loss. It will damage the aircraft’s ventilation system, hydraulic as well as data systems. Flying through an ash cloud could cause deadly effects on the aircraft. This is the primary reason why nobody is allowed to fly an aircraft when dangerous levels of ash clouds are up in the air. The current volcanic ash is a result from a volcano eruption in Iceland.
Hopefully, this whole thing will clear up soon. Right now, it’s disrupting plenty of flights and leaving plenty of people stranded.
