Homework Blues

I found my little guy very busy working on his homework in his Firefighter Table & 2 Stool Set one time, with a stack of books and papers. It was as if there was a tiny accountant in my children’s bedroom. It turns out he was struggling with his school work and had tried his best to do it on his own, without mom’s help.

I used to do that when I was a little child. I didn’t have anyone to help me with homework, which I think trained me to work better. I was glad my son is learning the idea of having initiative. I am also very glad he is starting to develop good study habits that I know he will be able to use when he is a lot older or working in a professional field. This teaches him determination and discipline early on. But seeing him struggle, I could not help myself and so I did his homework alongside him.

I cannot believe how much kids have to do at school these days. I think that this is the third time in a row my son had to bring home plenty of school work that I am worried they don’t have the time to be kids anymore.

Does your kid drown in homework too?
