Is it Safe to Leave Your Kids on the Playground?
When I was younger, I remember my mom would always leave on the playground. Although she never really went far (she would just visit the church across the playground) it was still a bit nerve wracking for a kid to be alone even if there were other children and tons of stuff to play with. Today, some parents prefer to shelter their child and just get them their own toys like the kiddie-ups prince rocking horse and then build them their own little playground. There is nothing wrong with this, but it does isolate the child a bit and keep him from interacting with other children.
Although leaving children by themselves in the park would be great for increasing their self-confidence, it is nevertheless still dangerous especially if the child is left in a public park. Some parents might feel confident leaving their children by themselves, but I just don’t think that it’s safe. I wouldn’t mind taking my children to the park and having them interact with other children but I would never want to leave them in the park alone.
