A Bruised Up Child
Now, it seems hopeless to try and make sure that our children do not get hurt. Accidents happen all the time and oftentimes, no matter how careful you are, it will often appear out of nowhere. Such was the case with my child when he tried to reach his alpha bravo charlie valence so he could take a closer at it and he slipped and fell on his face. His cheek hit the blunt side beam of the side table and not it has left a big and dark purple bruise in its place. I know that it will heal later on, but somehow I get really worried about my son’s feelings. I don’t want him to feel bad about it since it was an accident. He’s been trying not to go to school and I had to keep explaining to different people the same story. (I can’t blame them for thinking nasty thoughts. I would think the same if I saw a kid with a bruised face as well.)
Bruises happen all the time, but it’s not an excuse to not pay close attention to your child. We all want our children to be safe, sometimes we take it to the extreme, other times we simply let them be. I’ve been trying to get the bruise to go away but I know it takes time to heal. The good thing is that my son says it doesn’t hurt anymore. I hope it will go away soon.
