Backing Up Your Child’s Dreams

Oftentimes, you hardly notice children as they grow up. Most parents feel that one minute their child is throwing a tantrum because she can’t get that beautiful dragonflies pillow that she’s been asking you to get for her, and then next thing you know, she’s planning her senior prom. Of course, a lot of trials and challenges happen in between but more often that not, it simply passes and you are left sitting down and looking at a photo of your child and say, “my she’s grown.” As your child grows older, she’ll be influenced by a lot of different things. However, your encouragement as a parent will be the primary factor.

Although there are parents that are naturally good at parenting, there are others who have trouble dealing with parenthood. Some of them can’t even decide properly whether to back up their child’s dreams especially if it seems a bit too far. For instance, joining that American Idol audition or maybe pursuing an acting or modeling career. Parents automatically think that it is not ideal to do these kinds of jobs, but encouraging your child can do a lot for him or her in the long run.
