Some Words of Encouragement
Although it might not seem like a big deal, words are actually very powerful things to say to our children. For instance, you might ask your son to pick up his classic sports pillow from the floor; following it up with a “please” and then a “thank you” can really do a lot. It is important to constantly encourage and praise your child as he or she is growing up. Make sure that you notice all the things that she does and if he does something worthy of a praise or encouragement, then don’t be shy to say so.
Receiving encouraging words from a parent helps to reassure the child that he is doing the right thing. Moreover, he will remember it later on so that he will get the same encouragement that he received. Some words that you can use for instance when he achieves something, for instance in reading or language, includes: “Brilliant idea!,” “Well spoken,” and “That was a great read.” In almost every aspect out there, you can find some way to encourage and praise your child, all you need to do is be attentive to it and seize the opportunity whenever possible. Having some words of encouragement ready for your child will help him develop as a much more confident person in the end.
