Encouraging Kids to Drop Out
For many parents, seeing their children graduate from college or highschool is the best thing they could ever ask for. It helps to make them feel fulfilled knowing that they were able to help their children. Looking back, from helping them pick out their surfing USA twin sheet set when they were 7, to helping them on their junior prom to seeing them walk down those graduation aisle; it’s a beautiful thought altogether. However, what if you notice that school just isn’t working out for your child once he or she reaches college.
Although it’s still a bit controversial, there are parents that have encouraged their children to drop off from college or even highschool especially if they see that it’s simply not working out for them. Encouraging a child to drop off highschool might be a little unusual for a parent to do but it’s all about understanding and trusting your child’s capabilities. Learning paths are “not always linear.” It is important understand this point otherwise, as a parent, you just might spend your time worrying about your kid’s future. Although I hope things would work out for my kids, it is their choice more than ever to learn.
