Can Autism Cause Divorce?
Although there have been studies that shows that parents rarely file for a divorce when they have an autistic child, however, there are certain cases when a child with autism or any other illness can cause parents to split up. Serious illnesses in a child are obviously not as easy to fix like buying a walk a buddies princess coach. It takes a lot of commitment from both parties and sometimes this causes the rift to happen. One parent might feel just too pressured to keep up wit the responsibility and in turn takes it out on the partner.
Other times, it can be a conflict in the way of treatment for the child. Parents might have differing views as to the kind of treatment their child should receive and of course, the money issues for the treatment could also cause problems. Parents are not perfect so it’s not really surprising to see them breakdown at some point as well. However, some things got to give and often if the problem doesn’t strengthen the relationship between the couple, it often breaks it down instead. It is important to always consider the state of the relationship during hard times in order to avoid circumstances like divorce from happening.
