Raccoon Parenting
Recently, I came across this article detailing about people seeing raccoon parenting in action. My daughter who was enjoying her colorful sea twin sheet set was bugging me about getting her this raccoon toy the other day, so when I read this blog about a certain raccoon mom it just jumped up at me. Apparently, parenting for raccoons is pretty much similar to how humans treat their children. In this case, the raccoon child was wandering at the highway and the parent was trying to cajole him back out into the woods. Of course, the child wasn’t listening and just kept his ground. The parent has tried talking to it even dragging it back out to the woods but to no avail. It’s a good thing that the good people there placed a barricade around the parent and son (or daughter, not sure) to make sure that they are safe.
In the end, the baby raccoon was taken by the Central Park Conservancy since it seemed a bit sick and walking unsteadily. It was pretty docile when the specialists took it to seek out medical attention. Apparently, parent raccoons deal with the same things that human parents go through. I just hope that everything works out.
