Giving Away Old Toys
Yesterday, my little girl came up to me and told me that she doesn’t want her walk a buddies princess coach anymore. She’s wondering if she could give it away to a friend. I know how much she loves that little coach and I wanted to make sure that she was sure about her decision and won’t regret it later. So I said okay, as long as she is sure and that she comes with me when we give it away. This way, she will know and actually realize that we are giving it away and she won’t be getting it back. Well, she looked at me happily enough and said, “now, I have room for one new toy.” That statement came with a sheepish smile and look down my way and I knew what I was up for.
Okay, so maybe not all children are as cunning as my little princess, but I must admit, she got me. Anyway, she gave her old toy to her friend since her friend has a younger sister as well and she could play with it. There are some children that are pretty selfish when it comes to sharing their toys and then there are some that just practically turn into Santa once they are tired of their old toys. Guess which category my girl belongs to? Nevertheless, I am still glad that she was kind enough to think about giving it away instead of just throwing it out.
