Single Parenthood – Why There’s No Need for Fathers

The number of single mothers have been increasing for years now. Whether it is a voluntary decision to raise the child by herself, being a single parent can be both rewarding and challenging. My friend, Jane, is a single parent and for her, she can perfectly assume the role of father in her child’s life without any problems. Her little boy is into trucks and recently she just got the construction pillow for her little man. She’s planning to take him to a nearby go kart so that he can also try out driving an actual little kart himself.

She’s also making sure that her son is exposed in different types of sports and hangs out with his grandpa all the time. This helps him have a father figure in the person of his grandpa. Although it’s not exactly easy, she admits that she gets by and would not change her situation for anything. She’s proud and very capable of handling her child by herself. Because of this, she thinks that having an actual “Father” for her child as he grows up is not absolutely necessary. But then that’s just her opinion, others would argue that a child still needs to have a “father” in order for him or her to feel complete.
