What Makes One a Successful Parent?

Even though it may seem unusual, there are times when parents are forced to ask themselves if they are successful at being a parent to their children. There are varying standards to parenting that providing for your child’s wants, like that giddy up twin quilt with pillow sham , is sometimes not enough. Parenting is often a tricky business as well that it’s so hard to see the fruits of your efforts until your child grows up into an adult. Of course, most parents only want the best for their children so they try and raise them to the best of their capabilities as possible.

According to a recent study, some of the general traits of successful parenting includes having parents that “actively” enriches their child’s needs and addresses them. They are always in the know of the most up-to-date parenting information and monitor their child’s progress and whereabouts. Good parenting starts during pregnancy and not simply after the child is born. Keeping track of the child’s academics and his or her status in school is also good parenting. Although some might label this as “helicopter parenting,” I think it has its merits. As long as you give your child enough space to do things on his own yet still keep in touch with them, then your a step ahead in being a successful parent.
