Stalling Adulthood
If you think that you are the only parent who has to deal with an adult moving back into your home, then think again. This has been happening to a lot of families lately so it’s not really unusual anymore. Plenty of adults are either slowly moving back into their home or simply taking their time too long to grow up? There are times when you wish children would just not grow up and keep loving their out of this world full/queen comforter. But then again, when they do move out, there’s a sense a relief that also comes along with it. Sure, as parents it’s only natural to get worried about our children but more often than not, we get filled with a sense of accomplishment over them growing up. So, when they actually end up moving back in, it’s only natural to feel a host of emotions as well, ranging from happiness to a sense of anxiety.
More and more adults are finding that teens are growing up much faster than they used to and sometimes, this means that 15 is the new 25. Hence, 25 is the new 35 and most of the time, some adults who have tried out life on their and failed or simply need to readjust again, have to move back into their homes. Although for some parents, it seems troubling, this is actually something that happens to a lot of families today. There’s an articles from the New York Times Magazine about this.
