When Parents Disagree over Terminating Pregnancy

For parents, it’s often important to space their children out properly. However, there are times when no matter how much planning they do, women still end up getting pregnant at unexpected circumstances. And during these circumstances, it might cause problems if one of the parent wants to have the child while the other doesn’t. Now, normally couples would just look at pregnancy as another blessing, but for one reason or the other, one parent might not feel the same way. Maybe it’s the mother who thinks that having a new baby to take care of and attend to while there’s another fairly young daughter crying for her fairy princess garden pillow in the background, can be a little too much.

Hence, the other parent may decide to terminate the pregnancy while the other decides to keep it. Now, this can cause quite a rift and one that is hard to repair if both parents are firm on their decisions. Prenatal tests can often help the mother to know whether she has one on the way or not, hence, a lot of mothers and women feel that they should get these tests every time they suspect themselves of being pregnant. Of course, on the flipside, the other half of the party that doesn’t think this should be done will feel aversion and even anger at the thought of undergoing such tests just to find out and possibly have the baby terminated if the woman is found to be pregnant. This can cause major issues between the couple and could possibly just lead to plenty of arguments.
