Children and Bullying

Kids these days have become increasingly violent in more ways than one. More and more children are getting bullied or at least this phenomenon is receiving a lot more attention than before. Lately, it seems that children and teens are succumbing to bullies and their taunts. I know that it’s different when a big brother bullies their younger sibling over, say, their fly away twin sheet set. However, when children and teens get bullied by other children outside of their home. This brings a lot of complications into the child or teen.

There are more teens today that are getting bullied and still more and committing suicide as a result. It’s not just about homophobic bullying. There are other forms of bullying that happens in school ground and even to children in kindergarten. This is difficult to comprehend for parents sometimes since they often think that it’s part of life. On the other hand, most people seem to be immune to it, thinking that their children will be fine on their own and that it’s a “part of growing up.” Regardless of whether it’s a part of growing up or not, it will still affect children in more ways than one. If they don’t grow up to be emotionally scarred by it; it will manifest itself in other ways.
