Avoiding Alcohol During Pregnancy

We all know that alcohol at some point is horrible for our health. However, it’s especially true if a woman is pregnant. We often like to think that nothing bad could happen to us if we drink even while pregnant. Mothers like to think that their baby will always come out “just fine” and they are going to enjoy their rock-a-my-baby child’s chair or play with their cool toys without any problem. The sad fact is that alcohol can be damaging to a child. Pregnant women are often advised to avoid alcohol during pregnancy. Moderate drinking during pregnancy though, is not exactly bad for the child. Recent studies have shown that pregnant women who drank a glass of wine or two per week during their pregnancy, had children that did not better than regular children whose mothers did not drink alcohol during pregnancy.

Of course, the big key is moderation. Drinking socially,or on occasions that leave you no choice and drinking only a little, can be fine. However, if you want to drown your sorrows, then it’s better that you find something else to do or drink that won’t cause any problems to your pregnancy. Keep in mind that you are responsible for your child’s future. Always think about the consequences that you do to your body especially if you are pregnant since it will affect your child.
