Getting into the Halloween Spirit

Now, as a parent, Halloween is probably one of the most busiest times of the year. It’s a time when children would be crying out for you to prepare their costume months ahead of time. Now, this might not be a problem for mommies that are savvy with a thread and needle, but if you are like me, you would much rather go through your nearest mall and see what options they offer in terms of costumes. Moreover, it’s even more tough if you got a costume and your child refuses to wear them. It’s not like getting a personalized start your engine’s kid’s room sign and if your child refuses, you can simply tack it onto their wall.

When children refuse to wear a Halloween costume that you bought, do you, as a parent have a right to force them to wear it? For the sake of the Halloween spirit and not disappointing all those adults who will be handing out candy to them? The thing is that most parents feel that they would much rather respect their child’s thoughts. Of course, it won’t be wrong to nudge them a little but if they still refuse to wear something, then it won’t be right to force just so you can have your money’s worth on that costume you got. Of course, some adults think otherwise and feel that children should dress up no matter what, just to please as they give out candies to children in costumes. I think it’s wrong to force a child to do something that he or she blatantly refuses to wear or do. Certain adults, unfortunately, just don’t get that. It’s sad.
