The Dangers of Halloween Trick or Treating

It’s that time of year when children go knock on every neighbors door and ask for treats. Most of the time, Halloween is a special time in a child’s life, full of fun and excitement. Of course, there are the occasional parental fears but pretty much, everything always works out great. Most parents don’t like the idea of having their kids go on trick or treating, because of safety issues. However, this is a crucial time in a child’s life. And certainly, it beats sitting around in their bedrooms playing with the all star sports revolving bookcase. Of course, it would be ideal if you were the cautious type of parent. Maybe you can accompany your child to go trick or treating. You can simply ask a friend who also has a child to go with you so that you won’t be bored. You can keep the children within range and watch over them without really bothering them as they go trick or treating.

It would also help if you briefed your child on what to watch out for. Like eating random candy that don’t have wrappers or even from going near strangers. It’s ideal to always have an adult supervise the children as they go trick or treating. Other than that, always let the children carry flashlights or place reflective tapes on their costumers. Also instruct them to look either way before crossing the street. It has been noted that twice as many road accidents involving children happen on this holiday so be vigilant. Always do what you can to keep your child safe during Halloween by knowing where they are and who they are with while they are out trick or treating.
