The Sex Talk with Kids
One of the most dreaded situations for a parent is often when a young son or daughter starts asking about sex. Now, most parents are prepared to handle these situations. Matter of factly discussing the situation with their teens. However, for some parents, they would rather divert the subject and get that expensive flower burst full/queen quilt with 2 shams or any other expensive item just to keep their children from asking these types of questions. The fact is there is nothing wrong with children being curious about sex.
However, parents need to be prepared and ready when they children or teens inquire about this particular subject. A study conducted recently has noted that most American parents or American society, in general, talk about sex as if it’s something that’s disgraceful or scary and could cause a lot of problems. Compared to most Europeans who talk about sex in a funny and humorous way;educating their teens about the right thing to do when they are ready to sleep around. It shows that teens in Europe have less regrets and generally are less prone to contracting various STDs etc.
Parents often don’t know how to teach or talk about sex with their children because chances are, they also didn’t get any sex ed from their own parents. For me personally, my husband and I have talked about it and we will do what we can to teach our children about sex education.
