Laughter is Always the Best Medicine…Or is It?

Most people know that it’s better to laugh than to actually mope around. There is a tendency for people to always make jokes whenever they can to get themselves out of a rut. There is nothing wrong with cracking jokes at all but sometimes, there are certain subjects that people feel shouldn’t be joked about. It’s different when you’re tucking in your own daughter in her ballet lessons twin sheet set yet knowing at the back of your mind that your friend has just suffered a miscarriage. It’s always tough to lose a child, whether already born or still unborn. This is especially true if the parents are looking forward to having their own baby.

However, when my friend and I first saw each other and got to sit down and talk after her miscarriage. She was glum but she managed to joke around about it. It took me aback a bit since I felt as though that she must be ripping apart inside. And there’s no doubt that she was, the thing was that she managed to laugh about it because she knows that it will make her feel better to accept it. Although some people feel that miscarriage or infertility is no laughing matter, humor is a great way to ease the pain. It’s the perfect solution to helping yourself overcome your feelings of pain and sometimes guilt.
