Technology and Parents

When do you know if a parent has simply relied too much on technology? Of course, technology has helped us improve or make our lived better than we can imagine. Of course, there are drawbacks to having and using some of the latest devices even though they may seem like a great new gadget to have. For instance, instead of building fortresses using your daughter’s Annas Ruffle Purple Twin Quilt with Pillow Sham as well as their imagination; children would much rather face the computer and play online games or maybe play with their PSP. This robs them of a chance to interact with others or even just to build up their imagination. Although I’m not sure whether there’s a long term effect on the child’s emotional and social well-being later on; it is still something that parents should think about.

Of course, it’s another issue when the parents themselves are the ones that are too tied up in technology. I have seen people and parents buying every single new fangled device to decorate their home. There are even new mommies that use their phones to tweet the good news that they just gave birth, right there on the delivery room. It’s quite a new trend. Although it might seem funny at times, there are serious undertones to this practice. Just how attached are we to technology today? It’s a question that we have to face and answer ourselves.
