The Essence of Gifts
Now that Christmas is just around the corner, a lot of parents are clamoring to come up with a list of possible gifts that they can give out to their children. Parents often feel like every year they have to top off their gifts from last year. There is no doubt that children are no longer impressed by simple things like maybe giving them that brand new My Rainbow Valence or even a new set of clothes or dresses. Parents, in fact, feel pressured to come up with better gifts each time. Most of the time, they already shower their children with new toys, the latest gadgets and gizmos. Hence, when it comes to actual times when the gifts take center stage, they find themselves scratching their head and wondering what else to give their child.
Children today do have almost everything that they need. It’s not unusual for them to feel as if they can get any gift they want at any time. This is sad since the essence of Christmas gift giving easily gets lost because of this. Children no longer think that receiving gifts means something important instead they just end up looking at it as something that happens anytime of the year. It’s just more new stuff for them to play with and nothing more.
