CHD, What Does it Mean?

CHD is Congenital Heart Defect, this is an abnormality in the heart and its vessels. Babies may be born with a septal defect, atrial defect, tetralogy of fallot orother medical terms which are associated with heart defect. Babies who are born with it will have a lifetime medication and others are having heart surgeries as their hearts grow they need to have heart surgeries. Other heart defect requires new heart to be implanted that makes it so costly. That is why there is a foundation that supports children who have this disease. Just a week ago we celebrated the Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week, February 7-14, 2011. Through this it raises our awareness that there are people and children who are suffering with this and that they need understanding from us.
