Celery is a great food for kids, but for constipation I have found kiwi works better for my kids. They like more and it works just as well. There was a study done in the World Journal of Gastroenterology in 2007 that showed 55% of subjects eating kiwi fruit 2x/day for 4 weeks had increased transit times of food moving through the gut as well as less discomfort associated with constipation. The only down side is that the little fruit is a tad high in sugar so celery might be a better option for your kids…
