How to Deal With Asperger Syndrome
So how do you tell your child that he/she has this syndrome? An article I read the child accidentally heard the discussion of his mother and father that he has an asperger syndrome. Let us define what asperger mean. Asperger according to Wikipedia is is an autism spectrum disorder that is characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. I have known someone who has difficulty in social interaction, who also has repetitive behaviors and interests too. He is now an adult and to tell you honestly I think he doesn’t know that he has an asperger syndrome. I also read a comment on an article I read that they did tell their child that he has asperger and that they assured their child that they will try to find the good in it. It is better to know the diagnosis at an early age than at an adult stage since there are interventions that can help the child to develop his abilities to be able to maintain a healthy living despite of his condition.
