Letting the Kids Stay Home -> A L O N E for a Week

I was amazed in one mother who had two children left her children on their house for a week, for the reason that she wants her son to grow up and be able to overcome his timidity. The age of her son was fourteen and her older daughter who was sixteen years old. She went with her husband to his work place which was far from their place. A week before she left, they went to the grocery to buy food which their children would eat for a week. She allowed them to choose freely as she called the week “Their Independence Week.” After the week when she went back home, she was surprised to hear from her son, “Thank you”. He said that he was scared of going to college as he is scared of being far from his family. Now he isn’t anymore scared due to the one week of independence he learned to be confident.
