Iron Kids!

Iron is essential in our body and found in the red blood cell which carries oxygen in our body organs. Our kids need iron in their bodies to keep them strong, healthy, not tired and active. Sources of iron can be found in green and leafy vegetables, dried beans and peas, legumes, nuts and seeds, whole grains, dark molasses and these are called non-heme iron.  The other one is heme iron which is found on liver and other organ meats, lean red meat, poultry, fish, and shellfish (particularly oysters). Non-heme iron is better absorb with the help of vitamin C. Keep your kids healthy and strong with iron rich food.
